My wife is a novice rider, I just bought her bike 2 months ago, so we've been tandem riding. I wouldn't think of doing it without the ability to communicate road hazards or sudden turns.
We field tested this on our first "long" trip to Luckenbach. Yes, the Luckenbach, I don't need to say more. It was invaluable to keep us together on the road.
My only complaints would be as follows:
1. There is a definite sound difference between bluetooth phone and the Intercom. When switching, I need to adjust the volume, as one is too soft or too loud.
2. My FM Station memory resets every time I turn the device off.
3. I get poor signal using the MP3 cable.
Also...if you use an iPhone, don't expect to be able to use voice activiation. Even the new 3.0 software won't allow this.
A hint, the bike shops ask about 450 plus tax for this set. On here...it's a steal.
